Built by clinicians, for the exam candidates come after

MRCOG Academy exists because most revision resources are either unstructured question dumps or generic textbooks that were never built for exam technique. We build a curriculum-mapped alternative, written and checked by practising O&G consultants.

Why we exist

Revision fails when it isn't mapped to what the exam actually tests

Trainees preparing for MRCOG Part 1, 2 and 3 are usually juggling a full clinical rota alongside revision. What is scarce is not information — it is time spent on the right topics, tested in the right format, with feedback that explains the reasoning rather than just the answer.

MRCOG Academy was founded by a small group of O&G consultants and senior trainees who were frustrated by exactly that gap. Every question on the platform is written to a curriculum module, reviewed by at least one other clinician, and attached to an explanation that teaches the reasoning behind the correct answer and why each distractor is wrong.

Editorial process

How a question makes it onto the platform

Every item goes through the same four-stage process before it is published, and is re-checked on a fixed review cycle afterwards.

  1. Drafted against a curriculum module

    A contributing consultant or senior trainee writes the stem, options and explanation directly against a specific RCOG curriculum sub-topic, citing the guideline it is drawn from.

  2. Clinically reviewed by a second author

    A second, independent clinician checks the stem for realism, confirms the correct answer against current guidance, and verifies every distractor is defensibly wrong.

  3. Edited for exam format and clarity

    An editorial pass checks stem length, option balance and readability against the single-best-answer and extended-matching formats used in the real exam.

  4. Published and placed on a review cycle

    The question goes live tagged to its module, difficulty and format, and is scheduled for re-review every quarter or sooner if candidates report an issue.

Flag a question you think is wrong or unclear directly from the question screen. A faculty reviewer checks it against current guidance and replies with a decision.

Errata & guideline updates — 5 working days

When national guidance changes, reported errata and update requests are triaged by the editorial team and resolved within five working days.
